A 45-year-old Yonkers man was arraigned Thursday on second-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of his uncle.Calvin Brown lived with his uncle, 78-year-old Kenneth Brown, on the third floor of a co-op on Bronx River Road. According to police, Calvin Brown stabbed his uncle multiple times Wednesday after an incident in the apartment. Police say the nephew called 911 and told the dispatcher that he had stabbed a relative. Kenneth Brown was rushed to the hospital but later died of his injuries.
Neighbors who knew the victim say he was a quiet man who was a retired teacher. They say he took in his two nephews and cared for them. One nephew died of a drug overdose a few years ago. Friends say Calvin Brown had some mental disabilities but say he was never known to be violent.
