A new luxury residential development in Yonkers held its grand opening on Thursday, after five years of planning.

The Marquee Apartments, located on Bronx River Road, opened its doors to the public for the first time.

Mayor Mike Spano was also present to lend a helping hand.

"It just goes to show everyone that Yonkers is not a one-dimensional city. That there's a tremendous amount of activity, development, it's a vibrant community and it's happening in every quadrant of the city," Spano said.

The 10-story building holds 160 units and has a gym, game room, and lounge.

The units are available to rent now, and rent begins at just over $2,000 a month.
