The City of Yonkers held its 13th annual Thanksgiving Dinner Delivery for those in need at the Police Athletic League Tuesday.
More than 400 turkeys and non-perishables were given out.
Families were pre-selected by local community-based organizations to receive the food bags, but event organizers insisted that no one would be turned away if they were in need.
"Right now, you have food insecurity at a real alarming rate, and we don't want our families to suffer. We don't want them to be afraid. We want them to enjoy this holiday just like everyone should," said Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.
Cooking tins, fresh pies and bread and classic Thanksgiving side dishes like corn muffin mix and more were also available.
