Former and current service members were recognized on Veterans Day in Yonkers.
The city's Department of Veterans Services helped organize the event, which commemorates all U.S. military members.
Yonkers City Court Judge Ed Gaffney, a Purple Heart recipient, spoke about his time in Vietnam and its impact on veterans today.
"People should remember that over 50,000 people sacrificed their lives for our country," he said.
