The Yonkers director of public affairs is recovering Thursday after a car accident on the Saw Mill River Parkway.

The incident occurred near Lockwood Avenue in Yonkers Wednesday night. According to police, Richard Halevy was driving a city-owned car when he went off an embankment. Police say Halevy was ejected from the vehicle and was taken to Westchester Medical Center with multiple injuries.

Officials say Halevy suffered injuries to his right shoulder, arm and collarbone. There were no other passengers in the car during the crash. Police say neither drugs nor alcohol are a factor at this time. The car has been impounded in a Yonkers city lot.
