The Suffern Building Department removed dozens of items from a man's yard Wednesday after numerous complaints from neighbors about hoarding.

Two dumpsters filled with debris, along with tarps and scrap metal, were removed from the yard at 27 Hillside Ave.

Suffern Building Inspector Randy Ortiz says the homeowner had been issued violations and court appearance tickets to clean up the mess since last October. It is also the second time in five years the town has had to remove dumpsters of debris from the property.

Homeowner John Anzelmo says he has lived at the house for 45 years and what has been in his yard has only become a problem now.

One neighbor tells News 12 he feels bad for Anzelmo and thinks he has a hoarding problem.

Anzelmo has 10 days to retrieve his belongings. He is also due in Village Court later this month and is responsible for removal costs.
