WHAT TO KNOW

The weather pattern across the Hudson Valley is settling into a much quieter stretch as the Hudson Valley heads into the first full week of June. Aside from a few isolated overnight showers Sunday night, dry conditions are expected to prevail for much of the upcoming week.

Any spotty rain showers overnight will diminish before sunrise Monday, leading to a pleasant start to the workweek. Monday features a mix of sunshine and a few clouds, light winds and comfortable temperatures near 70 during the afternoon. While an isolated shower cannot be ruled out, most communities will remain dry.

The warming trend begins Tuesday and continues through the remainder of the week. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s to near 80 by midweek before surging into the mid- to upper 80s by Friday and Saturday.

The upcoming weekend is shaping up to be ideal for outdoor plans, with plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures, and only a few fair-weather clouds. The combination of summerlike warmth and mainly dry conditions will provide a welcome change following the cooler and more unsettled weather experienced through much of May.

No significant risk for rain is expected in the next seven to 10 days.
