YAI Tarrytown celebrated its flea market and craft fair for the third consecutive year on Saturday.
YAI Tarrytown provides support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
"The self-esteem that we see growing with the people with disabilities, running their own business, being treated as small business owners, that's the reward," said YAI’s Ken Reedy.
The event had over 50 local vendors, including some from YAI’s Creative Business Group which helps to start and fuel small businesses.
"I have my own business," said Lavette Boutique owner Lavette Poinsette. "I love it, I've had it for two years and it's amazing."
The organization said at least $1,500 was raised and those proceeds will go towards kitchen renovation for their kitchen program. It will provide updates to a space they use to teach cooking and possibly one day soon even cooking content creation.
