A court appearance by a Yonkers man, accused of driving the wrong way on the Sprain Brook Parkway and killing a New York City police detective from Westchester, had to be postponed today.
Efren Moreano was scheduled to face a judge in Greenburgh Town Court for the first time this morning. Moreano, however, is still in Westchester Medical Center, recovering from injuries he received in the head-on collision last month. The case will be adjourned until he is physically capable of appearing in court.
Moreano was arraigned earlier this week in his hospital bed and charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Investigators say the 20-year-old was drunk at the time of the crash, which killed veteran police Detective Paul Duncan, of Hartsdale.
