An employee suffered a chemical burn on Sunday following a chlorine leak at a Department of Environmental Protection facility in Valhalla.

Officials say that the worker was not seriously injured and was treated and released from the hospital.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. at the facility located at 20 Westlake Drive.

A DEP spokesperson told News 12 that New York City drinking water is safe and meets all federal and state quality standards.
