Major League Baseball is stepping up to the plate to help fight homophobia.
The MLB said it's trying to make the league a more welcoming place for gay players, coaches and staff.
The announcement comes just months after Michael Sam, the first openly gay NFL player, was drafted.
News 12 talked to viewers about whether they think homophobia is still a problem in professional sports. Some say it's less of an issue because younger generations are more accepting, but others think more still needs to be done to combat it.
