It was a scary morning commute for one local woman after her car ended up in the Saw Mill River in Yonkers.

The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the Saw Mill River Parkway, just before Exit 9 at Executive Boulevard.

First responders got the woman out of the water, and transported her to St. John's Hospital. News 12 was told the woman did not suffer any serious injuries.           

Authorities say the woman told them she was feeling dizzy and tried to pull over on the side of the roadway. They think she may have hit the gas instead of the brakes, and that's how she wound up in the river.

The car has since been towed from the river.
