A woman is left seriously injured after crashing her car in Eastchester early Sunday morning.

The accident occurred at around 3 a.m. near White Plains Road and Highland Avenue.

Police say the driver was heading southbound on White Plains Road, apparently lost control, jumped the sidewalk and slammed into a tree in front of a veterinary office. They say she was pinned in the vehicle until fire crews were able to extricate her.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
