Police found a woman dead while conducting a courtesy wellness checkup in Norwood.
Police were responding to a 911 call requesting the checkup at 2833 Decatur Ave.
The 64-year-old woman was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in apartment 5B at around 1 a.m. Saturday. Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced her dead upon arrival.
According to the Daily News, the badly decomposed body was surrounded by fans in an apparent effort to reduce the stench, and the woman's daughter was being questioned by police.
The cause of death is currently unknown, but police say there were no visible signs of trauma. The medical examiner will work to determine the exact cause.
The woman's identity has not yet been released.
