Yonkers police confirmed on Wednesday that a woman died following a car crash at the Empire City Casino in Yonkers on Monday evening.
Pieces of police tape and first responders could be seen where the collision reportedly happened.
A video posted to social media shows the aftermath of the car near the Yonkers Raceway. It also shows first responders around a woman near the car.
News 12 spoke with business owners in the area, who all said they heard about the crash. They said they were not sure how it happened, considering the area the car was in is not usually a drivable route.
Others near the casino were in disbelief.
"For all my years coming to Yonkers, that's real shocking to see and to know," said Ben Gonzalez, who works in the area.
"How did that even happen? What's the...the angle is crazy. There's not traffic on that road," said Evan Livrieri, who lives near the casino. "How do you get into an accident like that?"
The victim was believed to have been the driver of the vehicle.
Police say they're waiting for the autopsy report before releasing additional information.
Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts declined to comment.
