The Bronx District Attorney’s Office says a woman was arraigned Friday and charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of a Bronx mother in Highbridge.
Beyonce Johnson, 24, is accused of fatally stabbing Shashamanie Thompson, 30, inside her sixth-floor apartment on Dec. 27. Prosecutors say Johnson acted alongside Saleh Ceesay, 21, of The Bronx.
Johnson lives at the 1182 Ogden Ave. apartment building where the attack took place, according to police. Her relationship to Thompson is not clear.
Officers found Thompson just after 10 p.m., unconscious and unresponsive with stab wounds to her face and abdomen. She was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln.
Thompson leaves behind a son.
The Bronx DA says Ceesay appeared in court Friday and was arraigned in December.
Johnson faces additional charges including manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, according to prosecutors. She is due back in court Monday.
