A seemingly out-of-control driver caused a car crash and died in a wreck in the village of Florida Thursday, according to witnesses.
Those witnesses say the man made a U-turn when he encountered a road closure and barreled along Route 17A at what seemed to be more than 100 mph.
Witnesses say the driver, who was weaving in and out of traffic, hit a minivan and a pickup truck before his vehicle came to a stop. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
Police have not disclosed the total number of people involved in the incident, but say they were taken to hospitals and are expected to be OK.
