A group of students known as "The Wire Choir" is entertaining folks all across the Hudson Valley this summer.
The group, made up of all string instruments played by students from fifth to 12th grade, kicked off the summer concert series last night. The "Wire Choir" will perform concerts over the summer for the "Railroad Green" concert series and the "On the Lawn at Sugarloaf Crossing" concert series.
The group has expanded from 20 members at inception to over 70 members today. "They want to be musicians and young touring musicians. The amount of time they put into their practice and instruments, it's insurmountable," says instructor E'Lissa Jones.
The group performs current hits ranging from Nirvana to Imagine Dragons as well as many original compositions.
