Douglas L. Smith, 45, was riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle around 1 a.m. when he slammed into the right side of a Subaru Outback near Broadway and West 261st Street. Police say the impact threw Smith off the bike and onto the pavement.

Emergency personnel found Smith with major trauma to his body, according to investigators.

Paramedics took him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he died.

Detectives say a 30-year-old man was behind the wheel of the 2018 Subaru at the time of the crash. He stayed at the scene, according to the NYPD.
