Wind gusts up to 50 mph caused damage that knocked out power to thousands across the Hudson Valley overnight.
A particularly hard hit area was Yonkers, where trees took down power lines in the neighborhood of Marston and Raymond places. A large tree toppled over, crushing a Toyota RAV 4, and landed on wires across the street. No injuries have been reported.
Con Ed and Orange and Rockland Utilities report that outages affected over 1,000 customers across the Hudson Valley at the height of the wind storm.
