A Westchester widow is helping keep her late husband's memory alive with a new fitness center in Hartsdale.
Angela Arias' husband, Romel, was a New York state trooper for Troop K in Somers. He was in the middle of opening up a 9Round fitness center in June when he committed suicide.
"Nobody saw it coming," Arias said. "He seemed to be a happy guy. He'd just worked a couple of shifts."
Since his suicide, Arias has decided to open up the fitness facility herself to help others and herself. She also says she wants to open the facility to show their 21-month-old son what his father wanted to do.
"The 9Round has been helping me get up and keep going forward," she says.
The fitness center is set to open later this month on North Central Avenue.
