Thousands are expected to converge on downtown White Plains Wednesday night for the city's annual New Year's Eve celebration.
More than 10,000 bright, LED lights will dazzle the crowd as the ball drops 150 feet at midnight, ushering in the start of 2015. Approximately 50 pounds of colorful confetti will rain down on the crowd when the clock strikes 12.
The event attracted about 15,000 spectators last year, and White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach says he wouldn't be surprised if a record-breaking 20,000 people made it out this time.
Main and Court streets will be shut down for the event, which kicks off at 10 p.m.
