Now that the warm weather is here, city pools in White Plains have officially opened up for the summer season today.
Two city pools, including the Gardella city pool on Ferris Avenue and the Kittrell on Fisher Avenue, are now open to White Plains residents.
Both pools have been open the past two weekends, but starting today the pools will be open every day now through Labor Day. They will be open throughout the week from noon to 6:30 p.m. with the exception of Wednesday when the pool will have extended hours until 7:30 p.m.
Parks and Recreation officials say that the pools are free to city residents, but you will need a city identification card to enter the pools.
To get a city identification card you must go the Parks and Recreation Department on 85 Gedney Way.
Children under the age of eight will need to be accompanied by an adult to access the pools.
