White Plains authorizes around $2.2 million toward library parking structure rehabilitation
Motorists say they're glad to see the city intervening, but question why it took this long.

White Plains City Council authorized around $2.2 million toward the rehabilitation of the library parking garage, located at 100 Martine Ave.
The city says the project involves "structural repairs including column repairs and other essential rehabilitation work within the garage."
News 12 visited the garage on Tuesday where there were visible signs of cracking, rust, leaking and more.
Motorists say they're glad to see the city intervening, but question why it took this long.
"It's a little disheartening to see the state of affairs. Even where we are right now, we have a lot of cracks. Maybe I shouldn't be parking here for jury duty tomorrow depending on how long I'm here for," said Matt Crowley, of Somers.
"I think its good if they are making moves to fix any garages that are having issues, but it is scary to know that its gotten to a point where it needs to be fixed, rather than keeping up with regular maintenance," said Nicolas Rothenberg, of Tarrytown.
Mayor-elect Justin Brasch says he intends to do a thorough review of the condition of all city- owned garages.
News 12 contacted the city for a comment and is waiting for a response.
The garage remains open.
