Westchester County is starting a diaper bank to provide diapers for needy families across the county.
The bank, similar to a food bank, will collect diapers and wipes to be distributed to needy families through an application process. The county is running the bank, with help from the Department of Social Services, the Coalition for Hungry and Homeless and the Junior League of Central Westchester.
All donations are welcome, but the Junior League says the greatest need is for larger sizes.
More than 50,000 diapers and wipes have been collected already at the Department of Social Services in Elmsford. The bank itself will officially launch this fall.
