Fallen tree takes down power lines, blocks Route 202 in Montebello

A fallen tree took down power lines Tuesday afternoon following a fast-moving storm that passed through the Montebello area.
"The storm then was really very windy, a lot of wind and a lot of thunder and lightning. I had no idea that anything had come down," said Montebello resident Stuart Shpetner.
The tree fell across Route 202 near Kevin Drive around 3 p.m.
"I was coming down 202 and I noticed basically everything was blocked off," said a man named Joseph who lives nearby.
Downed trees and power lines were also reported nearby on Spook Rock Road. That scene was quickly cleared.
However, work on clearing things on Route 202 continues. At last check, there were still some power outages. Utility crews are trying to get things restored.
"It's Mother Nature, what can we do about it?" says Angelo Delvalle, who lives nearby.
Officials tell News 12 no one was seriously hurt.
