A Westchester County teen is taking her shot at Hollywood on the "American Idol" big stage.
Kaylin Hedges, 15, is competing in season 21 of the show.
She sang in front of an audience for the first time when she was 7 years old, leading her to the "American Idol" audition. The judges complimented her on her "big voice."
Hedges won one of "American Idol's" new platinum tickets - only given out to three people each season.
Platinum tickets allow contestants to skip the first round of Hollywood auditions and pick who they will duet with.
The Fox Lane High School sophomore and Pound Ridge resident says her school and town have been rooting her on.
Both her parents also supported her on her road to Hollywood.
Her dad, who is stationed in the military in Hawaii, even surprised her and her mom at the auditions.
