Westchester residents say nor'easter not bad

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner thought the storm was going to be worse.

It appears that Westchester did not bear the brunt of the nor’easter.

Many residents said the steady rain and gusty winds that Westchester had over the last 24 hours wasn't as bad as they were expecting.

"I mean, I closed my windows, checked my apartment, got some groceries just in case the storm was bad and there was water logging, but there's nothing of that sort, as you can see," a Hartsdale resident said.

Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner thought the storm was going to be worse, as well.

He said his town started preparing for it super early.

"On Saturday, we gave out over 1,000 sandbags to residents. They were lining up at town hall for probably over an hour and everybody was in a state of panic," Feiner said.

In the end, many people didn't need the extra protection.

However, Feiner said he was glad that people took precautions.

"I told some people and said, 'When you're overprepared, the weather is always wrong,'" Feiner said.

Edgemont resident Harley Pfeffer said it was a good thing that the storm wasn't as strong because he had a flight to catch Monday night.

"They told me that I should look into changing my flight, but I didn't. I think we're going to be good to go," Pfeffer said.
