Police in Westchester County disputed the reliability of personal Breathalyzers Wednesday during a demonstration at the academy in Valhalla.
The digital devices, which are available to the public, allow individuals to test their blood alcohol level. However, police cautioned that people should not rely on the device for an accurate reading. Police are afraid the personal Breathalyzers will give people a false sense of security.
Police say a person?s blood alcohol level is not necessarily reflective of their level of impairment. They say driving after drinking is never safe.
