Hurricane Irma is heading toward Florida, and it will possibly impact the Hudson Valley area for a few days.
Leaders in Westchester are now in preparation mode, making sure residents and municipal leaders are prepared for any weather event.
County leaders say Friday's preparedness exercises are for law enforcement, DPW and public works officials to know where to place medical supplies, food and apparatuses in the case of a major weather event.
Officials are also reminding residents that Westchester is surrounded by water with the Hudson River on one side and the Long Island Sound leading into the ocean on the other.
