Masks are now required for all visitors and staff of any Westchester Medical Center Health Network Hospital's Emergency Department, including Westchester Medical Center, MidHudson Regional Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital.

The decision comes under recommendations from the state Department of Health as hospitals have seen a recent increase in respiratory illnesses.

In Westchester County alone, about 380 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to wear a facemask in all other public areas of the hospital, such as nursing stations, lobbies, waiting areas and elevators.

All visitors will also be screened for COVID-19 and flu-like symptoms upon arrival. If you are sick or have any symptoms like coughing or a runny nose, you will not be allowed to enter the hospital.
