The Westchester Department of Health alerted residents of a rabid bear cub found in the Town of Lewisboro.
The department urged residents to avoid any wild animals who appear ill and to call their doctor if they had contact with a bear cub in the last two weeks.
Unusual behavior may be a first sign of rabies in an animal. They may also become abnormally aggressive or unusually tame and lethargic.
Staggering and frothing at the mouth may also be seen sometimes.
