Republican leaders in Westchester County gathered Sunday morning at the Westchester Manor to discuss their upcoming electoral battles.

Led by former Westchester County legislator Rob Astorino, who is expected to challenge County Executive Andy Spano, Republicans say they plan to make a strong push for all the top elected offices up for grabs in Westchester this year.

?Obviously, I'm very interested in this and I think it would be a surprise to nobody if I announced I was running,? says Astorino about running against Spano.

Another Republican leader, Dan Schorr, hopes to unseat Westchester's District Attorney Janet Difiore, a Republican-turned-Democrat.

?My campaign's been active,? he says. ?Great organization here and I'm excited about this campaign.?

With an overwhelming Democratic majority on both state and federal levels, Republicans say they plan to learn from their mistakes and reach out to more people.

?I think we ignored a lot of constituents. We need to reach out to young people, the minority community,? says George Oros, minority leader of the Westchester County Board of Legislators. ?We have to do a better job at that.?
