Westchester County PD: Suspect crashed while fleeing traffic stop on Saw Mill River Parkway

According to detectives, an officer attempted to stop a white Mercedes SUV for traffic violations around 10:50 a.m. When the driver failed to stop, the pursuit ensued.

Westchester County police say they arrested a 40-year-old man following a pursuit Saturday morning on the Saw Mill River Parkway.
According to detectives, an officer attempted to stop a white Mercedes SUV for traffic violations around 10:50 a.m. When the driver failed to stop, the pursuit ensued.
The situation came to halt when the Mercedes collided with another vehicle and slammed into the center guard rail.
The suspect then fled on foot eastbound across northbound traffic on the parkway before the officer apprehended him a short time later.
Charges were pending for the 40-year-old as of Saturday evening.
