Westchester County Executive George Latimer has officially filed paperwork to challenge Rep. Jamaal Bowman in a Democratic primary.
The filing allows him to set up a committee to receive funds and sets up a potential June primary for the 16th Congressional District.
Latimer will try to unseat Rep. Bowman, a two-term congressman who currently represents parts of Westchester and the Bronx.
Dobbs Ferry investment banker Martin Dolan also plans to run.
News 12’s Tara Rosenblum reports that Latimer is preparing a video announcement over the next 24 hours and will formally launch his campaign by Wednesday.
News 12 reached out to Rep. Bowman but has not yet heard back.
Three sources told Rosenblum in early November that Latimer had planned to run.
