Commissioners from all departments of Westchester County government met in White Plains to discuss Ebola preparedness.
In an effort to make sure everyone was on the same page, the commissioners discussed how to coordinate services.
Every department represented at the meeting would have important tasks to carry out.
"You don't think about DPW, but in a situation like this, suppose we have to close a road?" says County Commissioner Spokesman Ned McCormack. "What should be the protocols? Then you don't think about Parks, but Parks controls the County Center. When we had Sandy and other emergencies, that became the staging area for us."
The Health Department says that while there is no reason to believe that Westchester County is at risk for an Ebola case, it is still wise to plan for the possibility so there are no surprises.
Commissioner George Longworth, of the Department of Public Safety, says that everyone wants to make sure they are all on the same page and have a unified command in the event something occurs.
