The Westchester County Airport was busy Friday - a 180-degree difference from a year ago in the middle of the pandemic.
Lots of people were landing or hoping their flight would take off as the skies started to darken, and the sense that rain was coming filled the air.
After a historically low year for air travel in 2020, nearly 2.5 million Americans are expected to fly this holiday.
Even though New York has lifted its mask mandate, face masks are still required for everyone while in the terminal and onboard.
Those who aren't choosing to fly and are leaving for the long weekend should take caution out on the roads. Heavy rain at times could make it difficult to see or cause flooding.
