A pair of crash investigations along the Westchester-Bronx border shut down a major roadway on one of the busiest travel days of the year.

The Hutchinson River Parkway south reopened after it was shut down for several hours. Video from the Citizen app showed Westchester County police assisting an New York Police Department investigation into a fatal crash involving one car on Monday.

Investigators said it's unclear what made the car veer off the road into a pole and tree between exits 4 and 3. The investigation, which started around 3 a.m., shut down the parkway with traffic backing up into Westchester.

Later on, the NYPD once again shut down the Hutchinson south in Pelham Manor for another crash investigation. Investigators towed a motorcycle from that scene.
