A West Point graduate has become the first active-duty soldier to be crowned Miss USA, according to the military academy.
Second Lt. Alma Cooper, a USMA class of 2023 graduate from Michigan, was crowned Sunday during the competition in Los Angeles.
The 22-year-old says, “Whether I’m in uniform or … wearing this crown as Miss USA, to me service and your heart and your character truly lead me in every aspiration and every pursuit.”
