News 12 visited North Greenbush Road in West Nyack Thursday a day after William and Jennifer Schlette were arrested.

The couple is accused of money laundering, Bill Schlette is also facing marijuana possession charges.

"The family are amazing people. I grew up around them,” said Elissa Raines. "All I can say is they’re very involved with the community. They do a lot of helpful things. They have not done anything wrong to people. And they've actually helped my family a lot as well."

Other people who live on the street also describe Bill Schlette as a good neighbor because they say he is always willing to help. They shared stories off camera about how he’s been there to help over the years.

Police in New Jersey tell News 12 that Wednesday’s arrests stemmed from a month’s-long investigation into a business bill ran called "Bud Bus."

According to its website, it's a New York/New Jersey party bus that gifts marijuana products when people buy other items, like T-shirts.

In May, police say 150 pounds of marijuana was seized from five Bud Bus locations in New Jersey.

This week, law enforcement conducted search warrants at three areas in New Jersey and the Schlette's home in West Nyack.

Authorities seized about $200,000, several vehicles, ATVs and more.

The couple was arraigned and remanded to Bergen County New Jersey jail.
