Frigid temperatures and a dusting of snow are leaving roads a mess across Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
The weather conditions forced dozens of schools across Westchester to close or have delayed starts Thursday.
In Yorktown, the Taconic State Parkway is now free of ice and snow, but motorists are being advised to allow extra time to get to their destinations and to use caution while driving due to the weather conditions. ?Just take your time. It's a little covered and wet but just take your time and you'll be fine,? says Paul Jorger, of Middletown, who is driving a rig and had taken Interstate 84 from Orange County. Residents are also urged to wear extra layers of clothing to keep warm. News 12 Westchester Weather Center
