Gov. Kathy Hochul toured hard-hit Ulster County Monday, where thousands remain in the dark four days after a winter storm.

The governor spent the day in Kingston, touring warming centers and some of the hardest hit spots.

A total of 54,000 customers were without power at the height of the storm Friday, and roughly 7,000 Central Hudson customers remain in the dark.

Ulster County was ground zero for Friday's ice storm with trees and power lines falling for days - even after the bad weather ended.

Central Hudson has the largest field force deployed for any storm in its history, with hundreds of line and tree workers brought in through mutual aid.

The New York National Guard was also present, and the hope is to have full power back on by Tuesday night.

Central Hudson said that as of 5 p.m. Monday, 63,000 homes and businesses were restored and 4,100 customers are Ulster County remain without power.
