Westchester County nonprofit 'My Sister's Place' to celebrate 50 years of helping domestic violence survivors

Wake services were held Thursday for the Westchester County correction officer who died after her motorcycle crashed on the Bronx River Parkway in Scarsdale last weekend.

Eleanor Birrittella joined the Westchester County Department of Correction in October 2021 and worked more than 17 years with the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Her funeral is scheduled for Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Church on Park Hill Avenue in Yonkers.
