A wake service was held Wednesday in Eastchester for a Yonkers lifeguard who drowned in the waters off the Jersey Shore over the holiday weekend.
John Crimmins, 22, was a lifeguard at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester. He was also the stepson of Yonkers Schools Superintendent Michael Yazurlo.
Officials say Crimmins suffered a seizure while swimming in the ocean off Mantoloking, New Jersey, which resulted in his death.
His funeral is scheduled for Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe.
