A wake service was held Tuesday for the father and son from Nyack who were killed last week on I-287 in New Jersey.
Santiago Mercardo Sr. and his son, Santiago Jr., were struck by a tractor-trailer as they were helping another man fix his cement truck on the shoulder of the road.
Their wake service was held at the Source Funeral Home in West Nyack. The family will hold a private burial service on Wednesday.
A donation site has been set up to raise money to cover the funeral costs.
