The Town of Harrison mourned the death of 13-year-old Mark Anthony Giordano at his wake services on Thursday.
Giordano died Sunday evening after an accident in the Metro-North parking garage by the Harrison train station.
A prayer service was held Wednesday night at St. Gregory's Church in downtown Harrison, where people lined up to show support for Giordano's family and share their grief.
According to investigators, Giordano was riding an electric bike with friends on the top floor of the parking garage when he lost control and was catapulted over the edge, falling five stories. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
Giordano's classmates have been leaving notes and flowers at the garage in memory of the boy who was remembered as a kind, sweet kid and a standout athlete who played football and wrestled at the high school level.
"He had the most potential out of everyone in the whole grade," said classmate Gabriel Amaril. "He was on varsity for football and a really good wrestler."
Giordano was set to graduate from Lewis M. Klein Middle School in a little more than a week.
Wake services were held at the McMahon Funeral Home. His funeral is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory's Church in Harrison.
