Tarrytown residents overwhelmingly supported an $86.7 million referendum, securing a vote of 972 to 205. The vote empowers the school district to enhance classrooms, fortify building security, and enhance accessibility options.
In Valhalla, the community rallied behind a $6.7 million referendum with a resounding 295 to 74 vote. This funding will facilitate diverse improvement projects such as roof replacements across three schools, introducing flexible seating at the V-R-S Library, and constructing a new fitness center at the Middle-High School.
The Peekskill City School District's unofficial results on Dec. 12, 2023, revealed widespread support for both propositions:
Proposition 1, a $33 million initiative for major improvements at Peekskill High School, passed with a strong vote of 333 to 46.
Proposition 2, a $12 million plan primarily focusing on energy upgrades across all district schools, received overwhelming approval with a vote of 344 to 30.
