Republican Rep. Anthony D'Esposito and Democratic challenger Laura Gillen went head-to-head in a News 12 Vote 2024 debate Tuesday.
The candidates are vying to represent New York’s 4th Congressional District, which includes a large portion of Nassau County.
D'Esposito and Gillen, the former Hempstead Town supervisor, focused on issues like immigration, housing and abortion. They also accused each other of corruption during their times in office.
The candidates ran against each other in 2022, with D'Esposito edging out Gillen to help give Republicans control of the House of Representatives.
