Volunteers helped clean up the banks of the Hudson River on Friday.
The group 'Keep Rockland Beautiful' kicked off its Fall Waterways Cleanup campaign by picking up trash along the river banks.
Nearly two dozen bankers from TD Bank and clients of ARC in Rockland descended upon Hook Mountain State Park and filled up dozens of large bags with trash.
"What we really want to do is educate people that sewers, or what people think are sewers, are actually drainage systems," said KRB's Susan Wilmink. "So all that stuff in there runs right into our streams and right into our drinking water, and affects the animals and people."
Keep Rockland Beautiful has cleanup events planned for almost every weekend from through November.
