Village of West Haverstraw officials say they are prepared for a spike in coronavirus cases.
Like most municipalities, entering the Village of West Haverstraw building starts with a temperature check.
Once inside, there are layers of protection.
Mayor Robert D’Amelio says they have invested $60,000 in safety upgrades that were needed. The building houses village offices, a senior community center, a gymnasium, a court and the DPW.
The biggest investment was a brand-new air filtration system and a new audio-visual system for board meetings.
